Perfect Place comes from a song I wrote at age 11 which was also buried in my personal song archives for almost 50 years. I had named it “Pollution,” because at that time there was a big push on radio and television for us to do our part to clean up the world we were unknowingly polluting. It sang of conversations with plants and animals in nature who were talking of leaving because the pollution was too much for them to survive. I guess I wrote this as I felt somewhat helpless to do much since I was just a kid. The lyrics were set to an old English/Scottish/Irish-feeling musical backdrop. I re-molded the song for this collection. It was a delight to bring it to life again.
